CycleLens — Privacy Policy

    The short version

    Your cycle and health information is private. CycleLens has no account, advertising, analytics, or tracking, and Olaverse has no CycleLens server that receives your data. Your entries, Ask Nkem questions, and pattern detection stay on your Apple devices. If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is kept in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot access. Apple Health access is optional and controlled by you. The only service that receives app-related information is RevenueCat, which checks subscriptions using a random identifier and never receives your health data.

    1. Who We Are

    CycleLens is published by Olaverse ("we", "us", or "our"). For questions, support, or privacy requests, email contact@olaverse.co.uk. This policy covers the CycleLens app, its widget, and its Apple Watch app. Our website privacy policy covers olaverse.co.uk separately.

    2. The Information You Record

    CycleLens lets you record and organise:

    • period dates and flow;
    • mood, energy, sleep, stress, and exercise ratings;
    • symptoms and their severity, including symptoms you add yourself;
    • medications and supplements; and
    • ovulation test results, cervical mucus, and waking temperature.

    This can be sensitive health information. It is stored and processed on your device and is never sent to us. We cannot see it, recover it, or associate it with you.

    3. On-Device Storage and Apple Devices

    CycleLens stores your information in the app's private storage on your device, protected by iOS security and encryption. The app shares this information only with its own widget and Apple Watch app so they can provide the features you choose to use. It is not shared with other apps or with us.

    By default, widgets keep cycle details discreet. Cycle details appear in a widget only if you turn that option on in CycleLens. Anyone who can unlock or view your device may be able to see information you choose to show, so we recommend using a device passcode.

    4. Optional iCloud Sync

    iCloud sync is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, CycleLens uses your own private iCloud database to keep your CycleLens data in sync across your Apple devices. Apple stores and transmits that data using its iCloud security. Olaverse is not given access to your private database and cannot view, download, or recover its contents.

    You can turn sync off in CycleLens at any time. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

    5. Apple Health

    Apple Health integration is optional. CycleLens asks for each permission through iOS, and you decide which categories it may access. You can change those permissions at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.

    With your permission, CycleLens can read:

    • periods, ovulation test results, cervical mucus, and basal body temperature;
    • sleep and steps; and
    • resting heart rate and workouts.

    With your permission, CycleLens can write: period days. Writing to Apple Health is off unless you turn it on.

    Apple Health data is used only to provide CycleLens features. It is never used for advertising and is never sold or shared with anyone else. It is not sent to Olaverse or RevenueCat. Information saved to Apple Health is stored and controlled by Apple Health, not by us.

    6. Ask Nkem and Pattern Detection

    Ask Nkem and CycleLens pattern detection run on your device using Apple's on-device model. Your questions, the information used to answer them, and the resulting answers and patterns never leave your phone. They are not sent to Olaverse, Apple's cloud services, or any third-party AI provider.

    7. Notifications and Face ID

    CycleLens notifications are scheduled locally by your device. There is no Olaverse push-notification server, and we do not receive a device token or a copy of a notification. When you turn on CycleLens's Face ID lock, notification text stays discreet.

    Face ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS. CycleLens receives only whether authentication succeeded or failed. The app and Olaverse never receive, store, or process your face scan, Face ID template, or any other biometric data.

    8. Subscriptions and RevenueCat

    If you subscribe, Apple processes the purchase through the App Store. Apple receives your payment information under its own privacy policy; CycleLens, Olaverse, and RevenueCat do not receive your card or bank details.

    CycleLens uses RevenueCat, Inc. to check whether your subscription is active and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives:

    • a randomly generated anonymous app user identifier;
    • your purchase and subscription history from Apple; and
    • basic device and app details, including the app version, operating-system version, App Store country, and the IP address used to connect.

    RevenueCat never receives your cycle entries, symptoms, medications, Apple Health data, Ask Nkem questions, reports, or any other health information. Because CycleLens has no account, RevenueCat is not given your name or email address by the app. Read RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

    9. Reports and Images You Share

    PDF reports and Cycle Wrapped images are created on your device. Olaverse does not receive a copy. They leave your device only when you choose to share, save, print, or send them using the iOS share sheet. After you share a file, the person, app, or service you selected handles it under its own privacy terms. Check the contents before sharing because a report or image may contain sensitive health information.

    10. What We Do Not Collect

    • No account or sign-up: CycleLens does not ask for a name, email address, password, or profile.
    • No app server: Olaverse has no CycleLens backend and never receives your cycle or health data.
    • No ads: the app contains no advertising and does not use your information for advertising.
    • No analytics or tracking: there are no analytics, behavioural tracking, or third-party advertising SDKs in the app.
    • No sale of data: we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

    11. Deleting Your Data

    • Use Delete all data in the You tab to erase everything CycleLens stores, including the private iCloud copy when iCloud sync is on.
    • Deleting CycleLens removes its data from that device.
    • Data CycleLens previously saved to Apple Health is managed separately in the Health app. You can view or delete it there.
    • Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.

    RevenueCat's subscription record can remain after local data is deleted. To ask us to remove the RevenueCat record we control, email contact@olaverse.co.uk. Because it uses a random identifier, we may need that identifier or an App Store receipt to locate it. Apple retains App Store transaction records under its own policy, and we may need to retain any records legally required for tax or accounting purposes.

    12. If You Contact Us

    If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request and for necessary support records, not for marketing. Please do not include cycle or health information unless it is necessary for your support request.

    13. Data Protection Rights

    For UK and EU data-protection purposes, Olaverse is the controller for subscription information available through RevenueCat and for messages you send us. RevenueCat acts as our processor for subscription management. The health and cycle information processed only on your device or in your private iCloud database is not available to or controlled by us.

    We process subscription information as needed to provide and restore the service you bought, and we process support messages for our legitimate interest in responding to you. You may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information we control, or object to its processing, by emailing us. You can control or erase your CycleLens records directly in the app, because we do not hold a copy.

    If you are in the UK, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA, you may contact your local data-protection authority.

    14. Not Medical Advice

    CycleLens is an informational tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and its predictions, patterns, and Ask Nkem responses are not medical advice. CycleLens is not a contraceptive and must not be used to prevent pregnancy or as the sole basis for decisions about contraception, fertility, or medical care. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional about symptoms, treatment, contraception, or pregnancy concerns.

    15. Changes to This Policy

    If CycleLens changes how it handles information, we will update this policy and the date above before the changed version is released. We will also update the app's App Store privacy disclosures where required.
